Choose a stocking by size, contents and display space

Compare three stockings, understand their outer measurements and check what quantity one actually includes.

Start with the place it will hang

Measure the clear height and width of the door, shelf or mantel space before choosing a stocking. Leave room for the hanging loop and, on the 3D character style, the dangling legs. A product photograph does not show how the stocking will sit in your own space.

The measurements below describe the outside of the product. They do not establish its internal capacity, opening size or load limit unless the listing says so. A 32 cm-wide outer shape does not mean a 32 cm-wide gift will pass through its opening.

Which differences matter?

  • Knitted Santa or Snowman: choose this if the knitted fabric and character face are the look you want. Confirm the style in the selector; the two pictures represent alternatives.
  • Burlap character: the current listing describes a full-size stocking, about 47 cm long, with an opening about 21 cm wide. It is not a miniature tree ornament. That opening measurement is useful when checking the widest part of a wrapped gift.
  • 3D plush character: this style has an appliqué character, dangling legs and a hanging loop. The published material is non-woven fabric; the word “plush” in the name should not be read as a claim that the whole stocking is knitted wool.

Plan the contents before buying multiples

  1. List the people who need a stocking. Quantity 1 is one empty stocking in the selected character, not the full group shown in a styled photo.
  2. Lay out the items you plan to put inside. Measure the widest rigid item after wrapping, then check the opening where a measurement is available.
  3. For a gift with an uncertain fit, ask for the missing measurement or wrap it separately. Do not estimate capacity from the outside length alone.
  4. Check the space and support you will use for hanging. No load capacity is published, so avoid treating the decorative loop as a tested support for heavy presents. Keep decorations away from flames and heat sources.

A simple choice checklist

Before adding to cart, you should be able to answer: Which character? How many individual stockings? Will the outer shape fit my display space? Will my largest gift pass through the opening? Do I know when I need it to arrive?

The current listings do not offer name embroidery. If a personalised name is essential to your plan, ask before ordering rather than assuming it can be added at checkout.
